Celebrities who left the U.S. after Donald Trump took office

Donald Trump’s second term as president has sparked mixed reactions, with many celebrities expressing their intention to leave the country. Actress Eva Longoria, citing Trump’s policies, has split her time between Mexico and Spain, saying she’s privileged to be able to escape while many Americans aren’t.

Other celebrities have also considered relocating, including America Ferrera, who plans to stay in the U.S. for work but is looking to move her family overseas for better educational opportunities. Barbra Streisand, Laverne Cox, and Lena Dunham have all spoken about potentially moving abroad due to concerns about Trump’s policies, particularly regarding LGBTQ+ rights and anti-trans sentiments.

Sophie Turner, after the Uvalde school shooting and the overturning of Roe v. Wade, decided to leave the U.S. for the UK, citing gun violence as a major factor. Other notable figures like Sharon Stone, Cher, and Vivian Wilson have also expressed similar desires to leave.

While some celebrities have followed through with their moves, others continue to split time between the U.S. and abroad, seeking to create safer and more supportive environments for themselves and their families.
