Oscar winner Gene Hackman and wife found dead in Santa Fe home

Two-time Oscar winner Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Wednesday.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff reported no signs of foul play but did not disclose the cause of death.

Hackman, 95, had retired from acting in the late 2000s after a health scare. Over his career, he starred in over 70 films, winning Oscars for The French Connection and Unforgiven.

After retiring, Hackman focused on painting, fishing, and writing. He is survived by his three children from his previous marriage to Faye Maltese.
