Father of bullied boy who killed himself one year ago shares tragic twist
A year after his 10-year-old son Sammy Teusch’s suicide, caused by years of relentless bullying, his father, Samuel Teusch, expressed his outrage at the lack of accountability from the school officials who failed to help his son. Despite the family repeatedly seeking help, Sammy’s tormentors faced no consequences.
On May 4, 2024, Sammy, who had been bullied for years, pointed out a boy who had tormented him. A week earlier, this same boy had shoved Sammy into a trash can. His bullying escalated from verbal insults to physical violence, yet the school did nothing to stop it. Sammy’s family said they repeatedly reached out to the school, but the bullying continued, and Sammy felt ignored and helpless.

On the morning of his suicide, Sammy seemed happy, asking for pancakes. However, when his father and older brother returned home, they found Sammy had hanged himself. His parents believe the years of bullying, including cruel taunts telling him to take his own life, led to this tragedy. Sammy had no signs of depression before the incident, and his family is now fighting for justice and accountability.

The Teusch family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the school, seeking accountability for the school’s inaction and the bullying that led to Sammy’s death. Sammy’s father is determined to raise awareness about child suicide and bullying, hoping to prevent other families from suffering the same heartbreak.
