Princess Diana’s naughty letters sold at auction – it reveals a side of her we haven’t seen before
Even decades after her passing, millions around the world still mourn Princess Diana. Her tragic death in a car crash in Paris in 1997, alongside her partner Dodi Al Fayed, shocked the world.
Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles was deeply troubled, largely due to his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. Diana herself was also rumored to have had an affair. She spoke openly about the difficulties she faced within the Royal Family and the unfair treatment she received.

In recent years, several of Diana’s private letters have resurfaced. Some, written during her painful divorce, reveal her emotional turmoil. She wrote about being “on [her] knees” from stress and feared that her phone was being tapped by the royals.
One letter from 1995 thanked friends Susie and Tarek Kassem for their support during a difficult Christmas when Prince William and Prince Harry were with Charles. Diana called them the loving family she never had.
Earlier this year, two more of Diana’s letters went to auction — this time showing a cheekier side of the princess. She sent humorous greeting cards to the former King of Greece, Constantine II, containing cheeky jokes and signed with affection.
The cards sold for $7,000 and revealed a fun, private side of Diana that few had seen. Despite her struggles, she remains a beloved figure remembered for her kindness, honesty, and humanity.
