Kate Middleton ‘furious’ with Queen Camilla – she refused to curtsy at coronation, royal expert says
The coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla was largely seen as a success. All senior royals attended, including Prince Harry, who flew in briefly, while Meghan stayed in the U.S. with their children. Prince William and Kate Middleton brought all three of their children, with Prince Louis attending his first major royal event.
However, tensions reportedly surfaced. William and Kate arrived late, which irritated King Charles, and Kate allegedly refused to curtsy to Camilla at the end of the ceremony. Royal expert Tom Bower claims Kate was unhappy with Camilla’s actions and influence, including having a large number of her own family members present—about 20—compared to the four Middletons.

Bower also claimed that Kate played a role in preventing Meghan from attending the coronation, insisting she wouldn’t have her there “under any circumstances.” Reports suggest Meghan felt attending would have been “inauthentic.”

Camilla’s family played visible roles in the coronation, with her grandchildren acting as Pages of Honor—an unusual move for a state event. Some experts criticized the break from tradition, saying it risked alienating royal fans. Despite the tension, the day was historic and unforgettable.
While Camilla’s popularity is growing, royal watchers question if her grandchildren will hold public interest like Diana’s nieces. Meanwhile, Kate’s role continues to expand, with many believing she is preparing to be a future queen. Yet her alleged conflict with Camilla may hint at deeper tensions within the royal household.
