20 Rescuers Lift 320kg Man into Truck After Health Emergency

In Sibu, Malaysia, 33-year-old Sia Chie Herng, who reportedly ate up to 30 bowls of noodles daily for 10 years along with milkshakes and ice cream, became immobile over the weekend. Suffering from chest pains, he was bedridden for four days.

On Tuesday, emergency services arrived but couldn’t use a standard ambulance due to his size. Instead, 20 rescuers spent over 30 minutes lifting him into a 5-tonne lorry using a thick cloth and wooden board.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue confirmed the unusual case and said they did their best under challenging circumstances. Herng is now in the hospital being treated for leg swelling and is under medical observation.

His family and friends say he had limited mobility but could move with a walking frame until recently. They describe him as a kind man with a love for food, sports, and movies, and are hopeful for his recovery.
