So sad, Officer Carson
Officer Phylicia Carson, a mother of six and member of the Osage Beach Police Department in Missouri, tragically died in the line of duty on August 31, 2024.
While pursuing a speeding vehicle, her patrol car skidded off the road, struck a tree, and caught on fire, leading to her death at the scene. The driver, 23-year-old Christopher Aaron Bishop Wehmeyer, crashed minutes later and was arrested on charges of aggravated fleeing, causing a death.
He remains in jail awaiting further proceedings. The community mourns the loss of Officer Carson and offers condolences to her family, the department, and all who served with her.
