Dolly Parton issues statement after death of husband Carl Dean

Carl Dean, husband of country music legend Dolly Parton, passed away at 82 on March 3 in Nashville.

The couple, married for nearly 60 years, had a private, strong bond. Parton shared an emotional statement, saying words can’t express their love, and thanked fans for their prayers and sympathy. Dean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony.

The couple never had children, but their enduring commitment despite Dolly’s fame was notable. Dean supported her career but avoided the spotlight. They met in 1964, when Dolly was 18 and Carl was 21, outside a laundromat in Nashville.
