Billy Ray Cyrus’ adopted son urges him to ‘get help’ after Liberty Ball performance
Trace Cyrus has publicly urged his adoptive father, Billy Ray Cyrus, to seek help following a concerning performance at the Liberty Ball on January 20.
The 63-year-old singer, known for “Achy Breaky Heart,” faced technical difficulties and appeared low-energy during the event, prompting concern from his family. On January 22, Trace shared an emotional Instagram post with an old photo of them on stage, saying, “Being adopted by Billy Ray was the happiest day of my life,” but adding that his father now seems “barely recognizable.”

Trace expressed that he and his sisters, including Miley, Noah, and Brandi, have long been worried but feel Billy Ray has distanced himself. He mentioned Noah in particular wants a stronger relationship with their father.

Despite not knowing exactly what Billy Ray is going through, Trace offered his full support, saying, “I am here for you, just like always,” and promised to keep praying for him.
Billy Ray later defended his performance, calling it an honor despite the issues, and shared a video from the event with the caption, “This was the most fun I had at the Liberty Ball!”
