This girl’s miracle story will make you surprised… Know more below…
Zubaida’s Journey of Courage and Healing
Zubaida, a young girl from Farah, Afghanistan, was only nine when a tragic accident left her severely burned while using kerosene to light a cooking stove. The fire badly damaged her face, neck, chest, and arms. After initial treatment in Afghanistan and a brief hospital stay in Iran, doctors told her father to take her home to die. Though she survived, Zubaida was left with disfiguring injuries and emotional trauma.

In February 2002, her father sought help from the U.S. government. At a U.S. Army base in Kabul, military doctors connected with the State Department, which reached out to Dr. Peter Grossman at The Grossman Burn Center in California. Thanks to the Children’s Burn Foundation, Zubaida was flown to the U.S. for treatment.

Over a year, she underwent 12 major surgeries and transformed both physically and emotionally. She attended school for the first time, quickly learned English, made friends, and received therapy. On her 11th birthday, she celebrated her first sleepover. Zubaida now dreams of becoming a pediatric doctor to help rebuild her country.

Her story is a powerful reminder of resilience, compassion, and the impact of global support. Though she still carries scars, Zubaida’s strength and spirit shine. She has since returned to her family in Afghanistan, but they remain in deep poverty. Continued support is needed for her education and medical care.
